Mango Principal Dr. Avila

Dr. Michelle Avila

Hello Mango Families,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!  We are starting a new year and a new and improved school website.  We will try to keep all of the latest information on this page for your convenience.  For those of you who are new to Mango, my name is Michelle Avila and I have been the proud principal of Mango Elementary School for the last 10 years.  My previous experience in education was a middle school assistant principal and a teacher for 8th, 5th, and 3rd grades.   I am a graduate of UCLA and USC, but I will always be a Bruin!

I try to be the principal that I want my own children to have.  I try to support our families drawing upon my experience not only as an educator, but also as a parent of three children.  It is my goal to prepare our students so that ALL Mango Mountain Lions will attend college if they choose to attend.  If you ever have any concerns regarding the safety or academic achievement of your children, please come talk to me.  There is no problem that we cannot fix together!

At Mango Elementary School, we believe that college success begins with good character.  We have developed three school-wide expectations that we teach our students in order to be successful at Mango and beyond.  The school-wide expectations are: Be safe, Be responsible, and Be kind.  Please help us out be reviewing these expectations at home and refer to them in order to reinforce these positive behaviors.  We have the most amazing students here at Mango and we want to see them become the very best they can be!

Respectfully,

Dr. Michelle Avila
